Like a ghost town, the dozens of buildings that make up this New Jersey developmental center sit together on quiet, windswept fields. Naturally, after being ignored for years, they've slowly begun to deteriorate. There is still time to save most buildings though, as their roofs are still intact. But once those succumb to neglect, and holes yawn toward the sky, rain will quickly render the buildings useless. For now, the vacant passageways remain easy to traverse, leading visitors to empty operating rooms, empty beds and empty body trays, some just as lifeless today as they were when in use.
