glenwood power plant: cathedral of chaos
The right portion of the main building has a dark, cavernous central space,
with bricks cascading from the walls into giant mounds on the floor. The
air is damp from the Hudson River, sloshing away around and beneath the
building. A catwalk stretches centrally the length of the space- I made
my way up it have a look from above to the five stories below. After a leisurely
walk, grasping the metal railings, I crawled a rusted set of steps up to
the base of one the two massive smokestacks.

at one point a hole in the floor reveals a pit
of water in the basement. |
