This
building could have used some waterproofing! But like so many other
industrial structures on the eastern seaboard, it was abandoned
and left to the mercy of the elements. Rain, snow and ice have all
taken their toll on the evacuated structure. Oh, and several hazardous
chemicals left behind, including radioactive waste and copious amounts
of sulfuric acid, might have something to do with its current condition.
One should step carefully on the brittle floors. And use caution
on top of the building-- while taking in the panoramic view of New
York City, it is easy to become distracted and not pay attention
to the smushy roof. While there might not be holes all the way down
to the first level, falling even one story into the murky swamp
of moss and mold growing on the cement floor of the top story would
probably hurt enough.
Murky pools of moss and muck
Trees grow from inside the
building toward the light
A pair of chairs grow mold
No electricity for a TV here - whoever left
this was probably just beating off to the box
