Whew boy! Be glad that some of the 'revolutionary' projects dreamed
up to be showcased at the 1964 World's Fair never came to be- like
the proposed atomic-powered highway building machine that cleared
trees and built 1 mile of highway per hour. The bizarre proposals
have faded away, but a few remainders from what was basically a
two year advertising event still exist, including the New York State
Pavilion.
An escalator leads
to the
second tier of the pavilion.
Many abandoned locations
lack a roof- this
one is particularly noteworthy.
