williamsburg bridge

These photos are from a recent early morning stroll on the newly-expanded lanes of the Williamsburg Bridge. Perhaps the best time and place to see this neighborhood is in the wee hours of the morning from it's massive, industrial span across the East River. Near empty trains rumble above and taxis dart back towards Manhattan to the right. From this vantage, one can admire the graffiti on decrepit warehouses and the milky blue-green glow from loft windows dotting the landscape. Adding to the exhiliration of an unusual view at off-hours is the sensation of the rumbling roadway, shaken by the speeding traffic, below your feet.
